Dennis Phillip Rogers, 73 of Orange Street, Delavan died at Willowfield Nursing Home, Delavan on Sat. Dec. 27,2014. Dennis was born Dec. 28, 1940 in Beloit, WI the son of Phillip Burdette Rogers and Burnette Marcelle Brovold. He married Barbara Olson Jan 9, 1960 in Delavan,WI. Denny was a heavy equipment operator working for Mann Brothers for many years. He was a Member of Engineering Operators Local 139 of Milwaukee. Dennis is survived by his former wife, Barb, His x wife Betty and 3 sons, Gerry Rogers of Delavan, Kevin (Brenda) Rogers of Delavan and Robert Rogers of Delavan. 2 daughters, Vicki (Ringo) Lynn of Elkhorn Kelly (Tom) Palma of Delavan. 2 brothers, Richard Rogers of Delavan and Terry Rogers of Delavan. 1 sister, Carole (Bill) Johnson of Darien. 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren . He was predeceased by his parents and 2 sisters. Funeral Services will be 11am. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at the Betzer Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9 to informal services at 11am. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens, Delavan Twsp. A luncheon will follow at the South Shore Bar and Grill. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the Rogers Family.

FRANKLIN R STONEBURNER 119 South 5th Street, Delavan, WI 53115 Born Aug 27, 1932—Died Dec 28, 2014 Born in Footville, Rock County, Wisconsin on Aug 27, 1932; grew up in Allens Grove, Walworth County, WI. Attended the Salt Box Grade School in Sharon, WI from 1938-1946 Attended Darien High School from 1947-1948 After his father, Melville died, Franklin moved to Delavan, WI with his mother, Anna in 1948 and lived at the Van Velzer apartments, where he attended and graduated from Delavan High School in 1950. Worked at Sta-Rite in Delavan, WI from 1950-1960, also worked at Lake Lawn’s dining room as a waiter nights and weekends, 1960-1962. Worked at Lake Lawn’s dining room as a waiter on weekends to put himself through college. Started at the University of Wisconsin at Racine in 1962 for a Nursing degree; then switched his major to Social Work and transferred to the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and graduated with his degree in 1966. Was employed at Kenosha County’s Department of Public Welfare from 1966-1971 and then moved to Walworth County’s Health and Human Services from 1971-1997, when he retired. Franklin was responsible for initiating its Meals on Wheels program. Was a member of the US National Guard for 31 years from 1949-1980 and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis and stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He was also a past post commandeer for the Rutledge-Boviall-Schauf-Madison Post 95, American Legion, Delavan, WI Franklin, who was an avid antique dealer, was a charter member and director of the Delavan Historical Society, was active in his 1950 class reunions, Lake Lawn Luncheons with retired Lake Lawn employees and fondly remembered as Uncle Sam in the City of Delavan’s 4th of July parades. Preceded in death by his parents, Melville Judson Stoneburner (1889-1945) and Anna Elizabeth Newall Stoneburner (1902-1993) and his daughter-in-law, Susie Stoneburner (2013) Survived by his wife: Suzanne I (Scheibe) Stoneburner, of 46 years, married Oct 19, 1968 (Delavan), daughter, Elizabeth Stoneburner, son-in-law, Jerry Roman (Crystal Lake, IL), son, John Stoneburner, granddaughters, Samantha and Amanda Stoneburner (Deerfield, IL), sister, Dalma R (Stoneburner) Loudon (Delavan), niece, Mary Loudon (Delavan) and his nephew, Stephen Loudon & Victoria Loudon and nieces (Delavan). Funeral Services are Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at Luther Memorial Church at…time noted soon.

Samuel Alexander Dockery, 33, died at his home peacefully after a battle with cancer. Sam was born Dec. 2, 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Ronald and Delores Jean Grimm Dockery. He married Heather Brueggemann. Sam worked at Wal-Mart in Delavan. He is survived by his wife Heather 2 daughters. Grace at home and Emily of Delavan. Maria Socorro Murillo Jaramillo, 84 of Whispering Pines, Delavan died at Willowfield Nursing Home on Sunday, Dec. 28m 2014. She was born Jan. 16, 1930 in Mexico the daughter of Juan and Pauola Murillo. Her husband Juan Manriquez died in 2007. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. She is survived by 10 children..Antonia , Rosa, Elaina, Gloria, Jesus, Guadalupe, Anna Maria, Eva, Alma and Juana. 46 grandchldren and 22 great grandchildren survive. A visitation will be Sat. Jan. 3rd at the Betzer Funeral Home from 2 to 8pm. Burial will be the week of Jan. 5th in Mexico. Memorials to the family are appreciated.

Robert M. Gallup, 88 of Parliament Lane, Delavan died at Lakeland Health Care Center, Elkhorn on Wed. Dec. 31, 2014. Robert was born July 3, 1926 In Illinois the son of Mable Vierck and Arthur Gallup. He married Dorothy Longman Dec. 20, 1947 at the Brick Church in rural Walworth. Robert was a WW 2 Navy veteran . He was a member of American Legion Post 95. Robert was a member of the Delavan United Methodist church. His working life he owned and operated Robert Gallup Electric. Robert was a avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy. 1 son, James (Mary) Gallup of Janesville,Wi 1 daughter, Judy (Gary) Hopkins of Delavan. 2 sisters, Jeanette Wright of San Diego CA and Betty Peacock of Lake Geneva. 1 brother, Gene (Marlys) Gallup of Delavan. 3 grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer and Jason. Funeral services will be 11am Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Delavan United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stan Curtis officiating. Military Burial services will be 1:30pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Delavan Twsp. Friends may call at the church from 9am to service time on Monday. Memorials to the church are appreciated. Margaret E. Ernst, 92 of Sharon, WI formally of Battle Creek, MI died Saturday, Jan 17, 2015 at the Ridgestone Assisted Living Center in Delavan,WI. Margaret was born October 29, 1922 and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina to James and Edith (Lawrence) Edmondson. Margaret was a supervisor at Blue Bell Factory prior to her marriage to Lt. Bill Ernst after WW2 in 1946. Margaret was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was a member of the Lakeview Schools PTA and loved caring for her children and grand children. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, listening to music, gardening and collecting Angels. Margaret is survived by daughters, Katherine “Kathy” (Rev. Dale) Blanchard of Sharon,WI; Karen L. Heath of St. Joseph, MI;sons, Ronald A. Ernst of Battle Creek , MI; Karl R. (Barbara) Ernst of Siler City, NC and Robert K. Ernst of Bellevue, MI. Six grandchildren, one great grandchild, sister Louise Turner of Greensboro, NC. and a brother, Dallas (Becky) Edmondson of Greensboro, NC. Margaret is fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. William S. Ernst in 1998. ; son, William K. Ernst in 1989; brother James Edmondson in 1980, and a sister Rose Baucom in 2014. The family will receive friends and family from 9:30am to 11:00am Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015 at St.. Paul Evangelical Church, 349 Capital Ave, NE, Battle Creek, MI. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m. Thursday at the Church. Interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 2pm. Margaret Elsie Thomas, 88, of Court Street, Elkhorn died at her home on Feb. 16, 2015 of natural causes. Margaret was born April 5, 1926 in Saskatchewan, Canada the daughter of Eric A. Johnson and Swea Margaret Hollander . Margaret married Norman Thomas July 22, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Elkhorn where Norman was a plumber until his death in 1998. Margaret was the longest living member of East Delavan Baptist Church and the church organist for over 50 years, playing right up to Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. Margaret loved her Lord and her church and spread her joy through music. She is survived by 2 sons, Norm (Linda) Thomas of Washington State, Larry (Pam) Thomas of Delavan. 2 dau. Christine (Dean)Thomas of Elkhorn and Darlene (Jeff) Anderson of Trevor, WI. 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Norm, 2 sons, Richard and Jeff 2 grandchildren, Patrice and Brandon. Funeral services will be 10:30am. Sat. Feb. 21, 2015 at the East Delavan Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Hollenbeck officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens, Delavan Twsp. Dottie, as she was fondly called, was born Nov. 27, 1935 in Brooklyn, N.Y. the daughter of Elton Cartwright and Ada Ferrell. She married John P. McKay, Jan. 15, 1965 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dottie was a hostess and chef most of her working life in the hotel and restaurant industry. Dottie was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church She is survived by 2 sons, Michael McKay of Anchorage, Alaska and Charles McKay of Lake Geneva. 2 daughters, Shelli (Gary) Sisk of Darien and Teresa McKay of Milton,Wi Three Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. she was predeceased by her husband John, granddaughter, Carrie Anne and one sister, Katherine . Funeral services are 12 noon Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Visitation is 5 to 7pm Monday, April 6, 2015 Burial wiill be in the Church Cemetery.
