Richard Allen Osborne, 48 of Delavan died on April 7, 2015. Richard was born June 15, 1966 in Elkhorn,Wi the son of Charles Wm. Osborne and Margaret Baumeister. Richard was the manager of apartment complexes. He is survived by his loving friend, Shiela Carstensen. Step son, Justin Crag of Delavan, daughter, Brittnie Crawford of Fox Lake, Il. Very close friend, John Taft. Brothers, Mike of Whitewater and Bill of Lily Lake,WI Sisters, Florence VanMatere of Beloit and Shirley (Chris) Vallegas of Darien. Grandchildren, Zander, Steven, Isabel and Alison. Funeral services are 2pm Monday, April 13, 2015t the Harvest Pointe Church in Delavan with visitation at the church from 11 to 2pm on Monday, April 13th 2015. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Elkhorn. Rev.Gary Sisk is officiating. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the family.
Richard Hummel
Richard Lewis (Dick) Hummel Richard Lewis (Dick” Hummel, age 72, of Delavan passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015. He was born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin on June 16, 1942 to Robert and Helen (Schafbuch) Hummel. He graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1961, and entered the Air Force. Upon discharge from military service, he returned to the family farm. Growing up, the Walworth Co. Fair was an important part of his life; showing animals and exhibiting crops and is also where he met his wife, Dianne. They were married in February 1962. He is survived by his wife, Dianne (Nichols) Hummel of Delavan; three daughters, Shannon Lupini of Neosho, MO, Stephanni Stronach of Darien, and Samantha (Tim) Lange of Cobb; three grandchildren, who he loved and adored, Mackenzie Stronach, Madison Stronach, and Noah Lange; his sister, Mary (Ray) Scott of Clinton; and other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. One of his favorite past times included attending sporting events, especially to watch his grandchildren compete. He was a faithful supporter of events at DDHS and loved to watch he Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers Play. Dick loved anything to do with animals and his farm north of Delavan served as a place for suburban FFA or 4-H members to raise their projects. Dick held various jobs throughout his life, many revolved around driving ; school buses, ambulance, chartered trips, and later was passionate about delivering eyes to Milwaukee for transplants. Volunteer work was Dick’s life. He was a member of the Delavan Lions Club for 40 years. He held many offices over the years and will be remembered for being Chairman of the Corn Stand at the Walworth County Fair for many, many, years and wearing his green wig at the annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinners. Dick was honored and proud to serve as Zone Chairman for District 27-A1 and held various positions for the Walworth Co. Eye Bank. Dick was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellowship. Dick was also a member of the American Legion Post 95, D-D FFA Alumni, and the Delavan Historical Society. Dick loved gardening and growing vegetables and had a huge garden for many years. He took great delighted canning salsa and pickles with Stephanni and Madison. He was active in the D-D FFA Alumni and loved to assist the FFA in the greenhouse. He had an appreciation for growing flowers and plants. At the age of 60, he surprised his family by getting his ear pierced and purchasing a Harley. He loved riding, feeling the closeness to nature, stating that he found a beauty in the earth that one cannot gain from riding in a car. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. on Friday, April 17, at the Betzer Funerall Home in Delavan. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 11:00a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Delavan, with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall.
Roberta Welther
Roberta Florence Welther, 86, of Brookfield, IL and currently of Madison, Wi died at Sylvan Crossing in Fitchburg, Wi Roberta was born April 22, 1926 in Chicago, IL. the daughter of Thomas Herbert Filson and Florence Johnson. She married Wm J. Welther March 2, 1952 in Chicago, Il. Wm died in 1982. Roberta was a flight attendant for United Airlines for many years and later a travel agent. She is survived by one daughter, Robin (Dan) Fuener of Brookfield, IL. and one son, Thomas (Sara) Welther of Madison, Wi. daughter in law Patricia Welther. 1 sister, Evelyn Metcalfe of La Grange Park, Il. and 9 grandchildren. 1 son, Wm “Jay” Welther , one brother Ted and her husabnd Wm “Ted” Welther all predeceased her. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Betzer Funeral Home in Delavan with the Rev. Eric Stoll officiating. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the services at the funeral Home.
Shirley Cowling
Shirley Elizabeth Cowling, 84 of Delavan, Wi died Wed. April 22, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Janesville,Wi after a very brief illness. Shirley was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Burlington,Wis the daughter of Mathew Nelson and Marie Gerloff. She married Jack J. Cowling in Lyons,Wi in 1950. Jack predecased her Dec. 2011. Shirley was a very active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and was a daily Mass attender. She was a member of Am. legon Post 95 Axillary. She loved Bingo and a little gambling. Shirley valued her time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 1 son, Edward (Sharon) Cowling of Omaha, Nebraska, 4 daughters, Nancy (Tim) O’Neill of Delavan, Dr. Laure (Bill) Cribben of Delavan,Wi., Patricia (Chuck) Moser of Fluga,Minn. and Anita (Gordy) Petkoff of Darien,Wi. 3 brothers, Warren, Kenneth and Larry and 5 sisters, Penny, Bernice, Mary, Irene and Sharon. 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, 5 brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Rev. Angel Anaya officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Saturday. Memorials in Shirley’s name to St. Andrews Church would be appreciated .
Jerry Lee
Jerry Paul Lee, 61 currently of Burlington Rehab and Nursing Home, died April 27, 2015 at Burlington Memorial Hospital unexpectedly . Jerry was born July 24, 1953 in Burlington,Wi the son of Oliver and Dorothy (Wilhelm) Lee. Jerry worked at Lakelawn Lodge in the kitchen as a prep cook and he worked at AJAY Industries making bicycles and golf carts. He later worked for vocational industries. He is survived by 2 brothers, Richard Lee of Clinton. 3 sisters, Sue Kregenbrink of Allens Grove, Carol Ragali of Milwaukee and Linda,(John) Smith of Darien. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joseph. Graveside services will be 2pm Saturday, May 16th at Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon,WI. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the family.

Margaret Jean Lees, 92 longtime Delavan resident and currently of Wind Lake, Wi died at Seasons Hospice in Waukesha on April 30, 2015. Jean, as she was fondly called, was born June 9, 1922 in Adams Co. Wisconsin the daughter of Walter H. Helm and Winifred M. Bement. She married Elton “Bud” Lees on June 17, 1950 in Davis Corners Methodist Church. Jean graduated from U of WI – Oshkosh with a teaching certificate in 1962. She taught school 17 years at North Walworth School to elementary students. She also taught in Fontana and Round School on Hazel Ridge Road, north of Delavan. She was an active member of the Delavan United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women. Jean is survived by one daughter, Patti (Joe) Schlicher of Delavan and 2 sons, George (Nancy) Lees of Wind Lake,WI and James Lees of Muskego. 1 brother, Neal (Minerva) Helm of Grand March,Wi survives and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband BUD in 1996. and a brother, Sydney. Funeral services will be 3pm Sat. May 9, 2015 at the Delavan United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stan Curtis officiating. Burial will be Monday Morning, May 11th at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church from 1 to 3pm on Sat. May 9th. Memorials may be made in Jean’s name to the church. Grace Jean Means, 92 of Pine Street, Delavan died at Vintage on the Ponds on May 14, 2015. Grace was born June 25, 1922 in New Jersey the daughter of John Haines and Eva Smyth. Grace married Wm. S. Means whom she owned and operated MEANS Trucking with. Grace was an active member of Delavan Untied Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She work along side her husband and son until they retired. Grace is survived by 3 sons, Jack of Tucson, AZ, Robert (Charlotte) Means of Delavan and Joe Means of Delavan. 4 grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 11am Monday, May 18th at the Betzer Funeral home in Delavan. Friends may call two hours prior to services. Memoirals to the Delavan United Methodist Church are suggested.
Cheryl Spotz
Cheryl June Spotz, 68 of Ingersoll Place, Delavan died at her home with her family at her side on May 18, 2015. Cheryl was born May 21, 1947 in Spring Green Wisconsin the daughter of Charles Young and Mildred Thompson. She married Robert J. Spotz, August 31, 1963 in Wms. Bay,Wi. Cheryl was a 1968 graduate of Wms Bay High School. She trained to be a CNA and then a Medical Technician. She worked over 20 years at Lakeland Medical Center and later at Aurora Medical Ctr. Delavan. Cheryl was a longtime member of the Williams Bay Rescue Squad. She was a great mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Bob. 2 sons, Robert (Carolyn) Spotz, Kurt (Lynda) Spotz and 1 dau. Heidi (Rob) Gamble. 6 grandchildren, Kari Spotz, Kurt Spotz, Jr,Kristi Spotz, Clair Gamble, Catharine Gamble and Caleigh Gamble She also is survived by 3 sisters, Lina L. Nuoffer, Mary Ellen Ottosen and Jill R. Bartolone. There will be a gathering at the Spotz Family Home on Ingersoll Place in June. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery at a future date. Randy Shirl Firehammer, 55 of Burlington, Wi died May 18, 2015 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee,Wi Randy was born March 8, 1960 in Wisconsin the son of Shirl Firehammer and Caroline Ann Manhart. He married Brenda Norton. He was a over the road Commercial truck driver. Randy is survived by his wife Brenda One daughter, Ruby Blodgett of Delavan and 2 grandchildren. Johnathon and Ryenn. John Frank Jarosz, 77 of State Road 50, Delavan Lake died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn. John was born Autust 21, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois the son of John and Mary Malecki Jarosz. He married Jean Veronica Hartlein , Dec. 31, 1960 in Chicago, IL. John and Jean moved to Delavan where they owned and operated The Delavan Lake Boat Shed which is still in operation and run by their son Jaime. John was retired Chief of the Delavan Twsp. Fire Dept. and longtime member. He was a US Army Viet Nam Veteran. John was a active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Jean. 1 son, Jaime (Jeannifer) of Delavan Lake 1 sister, Dorothy Dykema and a grandsone Jacob. He was predeceased by a son John and his parents. Funeral services are tentatively set for 11am .Friday, may 29, 2015 at St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Rev. Angel Anaya officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11am at St. Andrews Church on Friday, May 29, 25015. Memorials to the Delavan Twsp. Fire Dept. or St.Andrews Church are suggested. Annette Delores Schoenfeld, 96, formerly of Janesville and currently of Ridge Stone Village of Delavan died at Mercy Walworth Medical Center on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Annette was born March 1, 1919 in Lacrosse, Wisconsin the daughter of Meyer Levy and Ida Goodman. She married Woodrow Schoenfeld August 3, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Woodrow predeceased her in 1997.She graduated from U of Wis. Lacrosse in 1939 Annette was a member of the Congregation B’nai Abraham of Beloit, Wi. Also a member of Haddasa. She also was a volunteer at Mercy Hosptial and a member of Breast Cancer for Recovery. Annette is survived by one son, Stephen Schoenfeld of Bellingham, WA and one daughter, Betty Wassel (Dean Sharp) Her former son in law, Steve Wassel of Delavan. 4 grandchildren, Heather, Kobbe, Sigrid Harem, Matthew Schoenfeld and Sarah Schoenfeld. 4 great grandchildren, EmmaGene, Michael, Brady and Owen. She was predeceased by one grandson. Graveside funeral services will be 11am Wednesday, June 17,2015 at East Lawn Cemetery with Rabbi Shlomo Wing officiating.
