Kenneth Baker, 69 of Cobblestone Road, Elkhorn died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee. Ken was born December 17, 1944 in Lake Geneva,WI the son of Ralph Baker and Leota Fish. Ken was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He married Linda Hirsch, May 11,1968 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan. Ken worked for the Williams Bay Police Dept. for several years and then for the Walworth Co. Sheriffs Dept.for 31 years, retiring in 1999. Ken was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He loved cars and collected Classic Cars. He belonged to The Open Air Convertible Club of Madison.Ken was a master woodworker, making everything from Picture Frames to furniture to building just about anything. He was a member of the Delavan Rotary Club. Ken is survived by his wife, Linda of Elkhorn , two daughters, Becky (Todd) Cabrera of Minn. Minn. and Abby Baker of Elkhorn. 2 brothers, Richard Baker of Tampa, FL and Leo Baker of Lake Geneva,WI. Also three granddaughters that he cherished as his little princesses. Ken’s funeral is 1pm Sat. March 1, 2014 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert P. Rickman officiating. Burial is in Spring Grove Cemetery.Friends may call at the church from 11 am to 1pm Saturday at the church. A reception will follow at 2pm at the Delavan American Legion Hall. Memorials may be made to the church. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the Baker Family.

Jane Ann Rizzo, 50, of 320 Tyrell Court, Delavan died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn on Sat. Feb. 8,2014. Janet was born April 5,1963 in Chicago, Ill. the daughter of Paul C. Rizzo and Blanche Rose Kec. Janet is survived by a son, Morgan Rizzo of Delavan. Her father, Paul C. Rizzo of Delavan. 1 dau. Christina Barajas, 1 brother, Paul (Kathy) Rizzo of Picatonica, IL, 1 sister, Pamela (C.D.) Alderson of Crystal River, Florida. Her dear friends Arianna and Miguel Torres, Wendy from VNA Hospice and Theresa Rauworth. She also has aunts, uncles, relatives and other caring friends. She was predeceased by her mother Blanche. American Indian Services are 6pm Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at the Betzer Funeral Home with Skip Twardosz “Two Doors” officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6pm at the Funeral Home. Mick was born July 11, 1920 in Barron,Wisconsin the son of James Jerry Flynn and Florence Isabelle Henry. His wife died in 2000. Mick was a WW2 Veteran serving in the US Army. There are no services or visitation scheduled at this time. Mick’s ashes will be cared for by his daughter, Lynn.

Richard Gene MORSE, 79 of Delavan died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Feb. 12, 2014 after a short illness. Richard was born July 21, 1934 in Sterling, Illinois the son of Roy and Harriett (Dohner) Morse. Richard worked at STa-Rite Industries for many years as a machinist . Richard was An avid hunter and loved his cats. He could be found at the Delavan Post office, Del –Mart which his brother Steve owned and operated or at McDonalds working out the world’s problems with his coffee buddies. Richard is survived by his Children, Corrine Moore of Lake Geneva,WI Melody Morse of Mesa, Arizona and Michelle (Kevin) Fish of Janesville. 2 grandchildren, Kristin and Lauren. 5 brothers, Thomas (Mary) Morse of Belvidere, IL, David (Shiela) Morse of Alabama, James (Bobbie) Morse of Joplin, MO., Dennis Morse of Kentucky and Steve (Loree) Morse of Elkhorn. He was predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 brother. A memorial gathering will be held 4 to 6pm at the Betzer Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 17,2014 followed by a reception at the Delavan American Legion Hall across the street from Betzer Funeral Home. Norman Edward “Bud” Cornelison, 89 of Delavan,WI passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at 1pm at Lakeland Health Care Center in Elkhorn, WI . He was bron in Cavalier County, Banner Township, North Dakota on Jan. 15, 1925, the son of Noah B and Martha (Kargel) Cornelison. His family moved to Southern, WI on Dec. 15, 1925, where Norman spent his entire life in the Darien, Delavan and Elkhorn region. He graduated from the Elkhorn High School, Class of 1943. Norman spent the W.W. II years in the U. S. Marines, serving in the Pacific Theater of War, being discharged in March 1946. On July 7, 1946, The Rev. Harold Gronseth united Norman with the love of his life, Shirley Jean Starin, in marriage at the Walworth Brick Baptist Church parsonage, in Walworth, WI He and Shirley had one daughter, Donna Lee Corenlison. They made the Village of Darien, WI their home for 20 years. During this time Norman Drew up the blueprints for their new home, which they moved to in the City of Delavan,WI Norman spent his working years at the Borg Corp. of Delavan, WI, retiring in January of 1989 with 42 years seniority. He was a lifetime member of the International Association of Machinists Union. After retiring, he and Shirley spent many months and thousands of miles traveling.(All 50 States, Mexico, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.) They were both members of the Walworth County Senior Travel Club and Charter Members of the WW II Memorial, Washington, D.C. and their names are listed there. Norman spent many hours at his hobbies, woodworking, ceramics, genealogy, and transferring old phonograph records to tapes. Norman is survived by 1 sister, Dorothy Mitchell of Madison, WI; 1 brother, Orville (Sheron)) Cornelison of Elkhorn,WI, numerous niece and nephews. Special niece Caroline Cornelison-Cauffman and her family of Elkhorn, WI and special nephew & Niece Ron and Kathie Klaman, Sr. of Rockton, IL. & their family and good friends and neighbor, Vi Reyher of Delavan. He was predeceased in death by his wife Shirley on Jun 4, 2008, their daughter Donna Lee Davies on Jan 5, 2004. son-in-law Gary Davies both of Madison, WI. his in laws Barney and Ruby Starin of Darien, WI, a sister, Irene Feltham of Walworth and the family dog, “HOLLY”. Funeral Services will be 12noon on Monday March 3, 2014 at the Betzer Funeral Home of Delavan with the Rev. Mike Ida officiating. Military services by Am. Legion Post 95 will be at the funeral home after benediction. Burial will follow in The Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan,WI. Pablo was born May 22, 1991 in Elkhorn, WI the son of Oscar and Consuelo (Valdes) Villarreal. Pablo was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Pablo worked as a chef at the Armory in Janesville. He is survived by 3 children, Pablo, Jr. Emilio Marcel, and Khalia. Also his father Oscar Villarreal of Monona,WI and his mother Consuelo Casillas of Delavan. His grandparents Alfredo and Juanita Villarreal of Delavan and grandfather, Ernesto Casillas of Texas. 2 sisters, Elizabeth Villarreal of Delavan and Cassandra Villarreal of Madison. and 1 brother, Ryan. Walter, “Wally” James Costa, 63, of King Street, Delavan Lake died at Mercy Walworth Medical Center on Saturday evening, March 29 2014 after a short illness. Wally, as he was fondly called, was born in Chicago, IL on Dec. 21,1950 to Leona J. Wisowaty and Walter James Costa. The family moved to Delavan Lake and became active in St. Andrews Catholic Church. Wally was challenged with some health issues during his life. His beloved mother took good care of him at home until her death and then his dear sister, Maggie cared for and tending to his special needs. Wally is survived by his sister, Margaret “Maggie” (Jim) Hoffer of Delavan Lake. A Niece , Jeanette (Aaron) Ulrich of Delavan Lake and great niece , Jocelyn. Marguerite was born May 11, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Joseph A. Schrimpl and Angela M. Lavin. She married John J. Clancy Oct. 23, 1948 in Chicago. John predeceased her in 2011. Marguerite was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, A Woman of the Moose, The Elks Lodge of Delavan, the Romeoville Fire Dept. Auxiliary, an active member of the Clown Hall of Fame and a volunteer at Lakeland Health Care Center. Marguerite is survived by 2 sons, Patrick of Elkhorn, Sean (Cindy) Clancy of Oxford, Ct and 2 daughters, Elizabeth (John) Erickson of Romeoville, IL and Mary (John) Oliveri of Ruckersville, Virginia. 5 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, 1 brother and 1 sister. A Memorial Gathering will take place at the Betzer Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13, 2014. JOANN S. JOHNSON October 16, 1926-April 12, 2014 Joann S. Johnson, 87, of Delavan, WI, died Saturday, April 12 at Lakeland Aurora Hospital. She was born October 16, 1926 to Webb and Carol (Pascoe) Schultz. She graduated from Delavan High School in 1944 and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she met Donald Johnson. They married on January 31, 1948 in Delavan. She developed a great love of sports from her father and was a big fan of the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. She used to keep a line score of every game. The last one she scored was Thursday, April 10, when the Brewers won. She also loved to read, do word puzzles, anything to keep her mind sharp. She loved her home in Delavan, especially the beautiful view of Lake Comus from her front window. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Carol (Michael) Grimaldi of Kansas City, MO, Diane (Wilbur) Honkan of Darien, Wendy (Robert) Shafer of Delavan, Jane Johnson of Delavan and Susan Ward of Madison. Her grandchildren Megan Dimmick-Rusch of Muskego, Jacob Porter of Madison, Joseph Grimaldi of New York, NY, Joann (Ryan) Shafer of Janesville, Donald Johnson of Minnesota and Kyle Shafer of Delavan, her three great-granddaughters Kora Dimmick of Bay View, Ally Rusch and Mallory Rusch of Muskego. And her cat, Max. Her husband Donald, her son Rick and her grandson Sean Ward preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, please give to your favorite charity or cause. Pay it forward. She told us to always remember her, but not to mourn her. There will be a private burial. Betzer Funeral Home is assisting the family.
